open 1972
The Grizzly was originally designed by Jack Nicklaus and Desmond Muirhead in 1972. The 18-hole championship course has hosted multiple premier events, such as the PGA Tour’s Kings Island Open, the Senior Kroger Classic, the LPGA championship, and the LPGA Future’s Tour.
In the Nicklaus tradition, The Grizzly fully utilizes the expanse of land with a variety of brilliantly designed holes, taking players on a scenic tour of the area. Muirhead’s influence is evidenced through long, multi-curved fairways, large trees retained as natural hazards, water hazards on the final holes, and plenty of bunkers.
