The Town of Breckenridge can boast that it is the only municipality in the world to own 27-holes of Jack Nicklaus designed golf. The 27-championship holes of golf are situated in a beautiful mountain valley at an elevation of 9324′. At this elevation the golf ball flies farther and straighter than at lower elevations, as there is less air resistance. The air not only allows you to hit the ball farther, but also offers temperatures that make you forget about the heat of the summer. Typical daytime summer temperatures range from 65 degrees to 80 degrees. Quite rarely will the temperature exceed 80.
Since the opening of the course, national and regional honors have been bestowed on Breckenridge. Current honors awarded by the Colorado Golfer (the State Golf Newspaper) for 2007 include; Best Mountain Course, and Toughest Mountain Course. Golf Digest rates Breckenridge as a 4 1/2 -Star “Places To Play” facility for 2006/2007. Locally Breckenridge was awarded the “Best of Summit County” by the readers of the Summit Daily Newspaper.
The course has four sets of tees so that each golfer may select the challenge equal to their game. From the Nicklaus Tees the course can play as long as 7,276 yards. Each of the three nines, The Bear, The Beaver, and The Elk, offer panoramic mountain views. The three nines are also similar in difficulty so any combination is sure to test your golfing skills.
Whether you are a golfer or not you will enjoy the “mountain living ambience” of the clubhouse. Have lunch or a beverage on the sunny deck or enjoy the cozy confines next to the fireplace. Whichever you choose you will be sure to be more relaxed at the end of your stay.
We would love to bring your vision to life. Begin designing your course today.
