The Cliffs signs Austin Ernst as LPGA Brand Ambassador

The Cliffs, a collection of seven private luxury mountain and lake clubs and private communities in the western Carolinas, announced an official partnership with Austin Ernst as its LPGA Brand Ambassador.

Ernst became affiliated with The Cliffs through a long-standing friendship her father has with The Cliffs’ Director of Golf Brian Peeples.

“I grew up visiting The Cliffs’ communities and I’m excited to partner with The Cliffs as a LPGA Tour member,” Ernst said. “They offer world class golf facilities in beautiful settings.”

The Cliffs is a collection of seven premier private, luxury residential mountain and lake communities located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of the western Carolinas, between two of the nation’s top award-winning cities for quality of life, Greenville, S.C., and Asheville, N.C. and Clemson, S.C. Members of The Cliffs have access to all seven of The Cliffs’ clubs that, together, offer more than 50 restaurant and private event venues. The golf experience at The Cliffs includes seven award-winning, championship 18-hole golf courses, including two by Jack Nicklaus: The Cliffs at Keowee Falls and The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.

Ernst played two years at the NCAA Division I level for the Louisiana State University Tigers, where she won three events, including an NCAA Division I Individual Championship. After LSU, Ernst won the 2013 North-South Amateur tournament and was a 2012 Curtis Cup team member before joining the LGPA Tour in 2013. During her first two years on the tour, Ernst became a Rolex First-Time Winner at the Portland Classic, defeating her opponent during the first sudden-death playoff hole, in addition to eight other top-10 finishes. Ernst is currently completing her third tour. Ernst will use The Cliffs’ golf facilities while training in South Carolina.

With this agreement, The Cliffs will receive brand recognition at all of Ernst’s events and competitions in the United States and around the world. Additionally, as part of the partnership, The Cliffs will host her annual one-day pro-am charity tournament scheduled for August 8, 2016, when she invites 10 other top-ranked LPGA Tour players to join her efforts to benefit Safe Harbor. Ernst is scheduled to host clinics for Cliffs members, including an event for junior golfers throughout the region and a clinic for The Cliffs’ female golfers.

“It is an honor to have such a talented young golfer who is native to the area to partner with The Cliffs. We are thrilled to help host her annual tournament and give The Cliffs’ members a chance to meet such an inspiring young woman,” said Brian Peeples, Director of Golf for The Cliffs.
