Toscana Country Club Adds Shorter Tees as Part of PGA’s National ‘Tee It Forward’
Initiative with Jack Nicklaus
INDIAN WELLS, Calif. (July 25, 2012) – Toscana Country Club, a private golf club and luxury residential community located outside of Palm Springs, is taking the lead and making golf a game for all to enjoy with the addition of new, shorter tees as part of their partnership with the PGA’s national initiative, Tee It Forward. The Tee It Forward program encourages golfers to play from tees that match their skill level so they can better enjoy the game with fewer overall shots and shorter distances played on each hole. Another benefit is that golfers of all skill levels can easily play together. Toscana is adding a new tee to each hole on the Jack Nicklaus Signature South Course that will allow their members and guests to have a 4,550 yard, par 72 option. Construction on the new tees will be completed by the end of Summer 2012.
Toscana Country Club is proud to be the first private club in the desert to join this campaign to make the game of golf more accessible and fun to play for all levels. Jack Nicklaus, who personally designed all of Toscana’s 27 holes is an avid supporter of Tee It Forward and worked with the team at Toscana to add new forward tees. Four sets of “Combo” tees, rated and sloped by the SCPGA and WSCGA, will also be added for additional 18-hole round of golf options.
“We are pleased to embrace the PGA’s Tee It Forward program and offer our members new shorter tees as an alternative option so that everyone can enjoy the beautiful course and the game of golf,” says William Bone, President and Founder of Sunrise Company, developer of Toscana Country Club. “We look forward to seeing more players of all ages and skill levels out on the South Course with the start of this new partnership with the PGA.”
