Golf-Front Hill Country Development Is Inspired By
Golf’s Greatest Champion
HORSESHOE BAY, Texas—The Reserve at Summit Rock, a 50-home, golf-front development in the Texas Hill Country, is pleased to announce its affiliation with the Nicklaus Companies and the Golden Bear himself, Jack Nicklaus. In recognition of Nicklaus’ involvement with the development, The Reserve at Summit Rock has officially changed its name to the Golden Bear Reserve at Summit Rock.
The Golden Bear Reserve at Summit Rock is a 21-acre parcel overlooking holes 17 and 18 of Summit Rock Golf Course, a soon-to-be-completed Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. It is located a short, scenic drive from Austin in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. This project is the only new golf course real estate community actively underway in the area and Summit Rock is one of the newest Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses in the country.
In addition to the Golden Bear Reserve at Summit Rock celebrating one of sports’ most iconic champions, the developers are constructing a residence for the personal use of Jack Nicklaus and the Nicklaus family.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Mr. Nicklaus’ support on this exciting real estate development that overlooks the newest Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. The Golden Bear Reserve at Summit Rock is the ideal location for any golf enthusiast,” Jay Fertig, president of R Summit Rock LLC, the project’s general partner, said. “We also want to congratulate Mr. Nicklaus on the 25th anniversary of his final Masters’ victory.”
“Having our property located on the final holes at Summit Rock has afforded me the opportunity to see just how special the course is,” Fertig continued. “The preparation work currently underway by the Horseshoe Bay Resort is extensive and quite costly. I commend the Resort leadership team and look forward to their continued stewardship of this magnificent course.”
The development offers a variety of upscale home models by well-known local builder Westway Custom Builders and includes top-of-the-line finishes standard in each home. Homesite and home packages range from $475,000 to $750,000 for 1,850 to 3,000 square feet. Homes will be ready for move-in within four to six months from purchase.
Buyers will be offered full membership privileges (with their initiation fees satisfied*) to the neighboring Club at Horseshoe Bay Resort. The Resort will own and operate Summit Rock Golf Course in addition to the three renowned championship courses it currently operates.
The design team includes residential designer Steve Todd of Austin Design Group and world-renowned Vita Planning & Landscape Architecture.
The project’s on-site sales facility is located immediately adjacent to the development and the design office is located nearby on FM 2147. Additionally, two model homes, including the Nicklaus’ residence, will be built on-site and available for tours by late spring.
