The London Golf Club – Clubhouse Hat trick!

For the third consecutive year, The London Golf Club has been crowned Clubhouse of the Year.

Once again, the Club was up against stiff competition for the title with Loch Lomond, Sunningdale and Wentworth among the other golf clubs nominated in the category.

ClubHouse Magazine first voted The London Golf Club the UK’s best Clubhouse in 2006. Continued investment in the facilities and the two immaculate championship courses has helped retain the award for the subsequent two years.

The European Tour and some of the world’s best golfers enjoyed the superb service and comforts of the Clubhouse back in July 2008 when the Club hosted The European Open. That week, the professionals praised the outstanding amenities on offer and the welcoming, friendly staff.

With an extensive works programme planned for 2009, including a locker room refurbishment and the proposed development of additional conference and wedding facilities, the Club will continue to assert its position as one of the forerunners in the industry.

General Manager Heath Harvey said: “Winning this prestigious award three years on the trot is quite incredible. It just goes to show that as a Club we continue to go from strength to strength and this is a welcome endorsement that we are moving in the right direction. The award is testament to the fact that investing in your product pays dividends.”

Similarly to 2007, the Club was again nominated for its catering.
The award was presented at the ClubHouse Awards 2008 at the Mere Golf & Country Club on Monday 22nd September.
